Task Templates Overview
Task Templates let you define reusable task definitions that can be applied any time a new task is created. Each template can include a pre-set assignee, initial status, due date offset (X days after creation), and default values for custom properties. This ensures that your team starts every task with the right defaults instead of filling things in from scratch each time.
Task Templates are available at every task creation entry point: the Task Table View, the 360 action bar, quick create, Docs, Meetings, Project Templates, and Playbooks.
Managing Task Templates
Task Templates are managed in Settings. Navigate to Settings (⚙️) → Tasks → Templates (or via Quick Jump Mac: ⌘ + j Windows: Alt + j).

Cloning & Deleting Templates
From the Templates list, you can clone or delete any template you have access to. Cloning creates a copy with the name prefixed "Copy of [Template Name]" that you can then edit independently.
Visibility & Permissions
Template visibility controls who can see and use a template:
Team — visible and usable by everyone on your team. Only Admins and Leaders can create team-scoped templates.
Private — visible only to the creator. Team Members are locked to private visibility and cannot publish templates to the team.
Using Task Templates
When creating a task from any entry point (Task Table View, 360 action bar, quick create, Docs, or Meetings), a Templates tab appears in the task slideout. Select a template to pre-fill the task's fields, then make any adjustments before saving.
In Project Templates
When adding tasks to a Project Template, the same Templates tab is available in the task slideout. Selecting a Task Template pre-fills the task's defaults inside the Project Template.
Task Templates added to Project Templates are not linked. If you edit the Task Template in Settings later, those changes will not update the copy already saved inside the Project Template.
In Playbooks
When configuring a Create a Task action in a Playbook, you can optionally select a Task Template to pre-fill the task's defaults. Any overrides you configure in the action itself will take precedence over the template's values.
