Doc Updates

Invite Teammates to Edit Docs

Now, it’s easier than ever for internal team members to collaborate on a single Doc!

“Team Member” and “Observer” users will be able to edit any Doc they are invited to and share those Docs with others.

To invite teammates to a Doc, simply click the “Share” button on the top right corner and select the users you’d like to invite. If you have both internal team members and external customers shared on a Doc, you’ll be able to see those users listed out separately. To revoke access, go back to the “Share” button and hover over the drop down arrow to remove a user.

Note: “Observer” users can only add in existing Tasks and Projects in a Doc. They cannot create new Tasks or Projects as other users can. "Observer" users can also Follow and Unfollow comment threads within a Doc.

Integration Updates

Supporting 'Fallback' IDs for CRM Integrations

Bring in more of your customer data with Fallback IDs! For those using HubSpot and Salesforce, you can set a primary external ID for your accounts as well as a secondary fallback ID for Accounts, Organizations, and Users.

Fallback IDs allow you to sync customer activities and data into Vitally before they are officially a customer in your system. This is useful for cases where a customer has a different domain name or username in your system initially, such as with demo or trial accounts.

Adding in a primary and secondary ID will allow for a seamless transition of customer profiles from when they are in an initial trial/demo stage to when they are officially marked as a customer. If both fields are configured, we will automatically change the external ID in Vitally from the secondary to the primary if/when it is set.

Salesforce: Bidirectional Key Role Sync

Vitally Key Roles can now be pushed to Salesforce!

To get started, navigate to your Settings -> Key Roles -> and click ‘Edit’ or ‘New Key Role’. From this window, you’ll see new options listed under ‘Sync Mode’ where you can decide between Sync (updates in SFDC will show up in Vitally), Sync and Push (updates in either system will show up in the other), or Push only (updates in Vitally will show up in SFDC).

Additional Updates

NEW User Role: Leader

We're excited to announce a new user role in Vitally called “Leader”. This new role sits between “Team Member” and “Admin” and has its own set of permissions.

Leaders will be able to set processes and configure metrics in Vitally, but will not have access to the most sensitive settings. This role is designed for Team Leads and Managers - a level above an individual contributor (Team Member) but not quite an executive role (Admin).

Learn more about each user’s permissions in the article here.

Restrict New Options in Custom Traits

Users who can create/edit Custom Traits have an additional option when creating String and Multi-Select Traits. This new checkbox, when checked, prevents new values from being added from outside the Trait’s configuration!

This is useful for cases where you only want users to select from a certain list of values, and not add their own. If you’d like to give users the ability to add new options for your Custom Traits, simply leave the first box unchecked.

Group Conversation Widgets by Organization Properties

In the Dashboard Widget creator, you can select Organization-level properties when grouping Conversations.
