Gong FAQ
Q: What happens to the tasks I created if I delete a Meeting with a Gong call?
A: You’ll be given the option to retain or delete any tasks that are related to this Meeting.
Comment
Q: If I have both Google Calendar and Gong integrated, will duplicate Meetings be created?
A: We will de-dupe the Meetings created from Gong and GCal (Google Calendar)
Q: Why can't I see future meetings with the Gong integration?
A: The Gong integration only syncs meetings that have already happened—it doesn’t pull in future meetings.
To see upcoming and recurring meetings in Vitally, make sure both Gong and a calendar integration (like Google Calendar) are enabled. This way, you'll get both past and future meetings synced across.
Q: Why should I enable both Meetings and Gong if we already use Gong? Would we miss anything important by not connecting Meetings?
A: You’d miss out on some key functionality by not connecting Meetings. While Gong captures and reports on meetings that have already taken place, it doesn’t account for future meetings. The Meetings integration, on the other hand, pulls in scheduled meetings from your calendar, including recurring or upcoming sessions. This means you'll have visibility into all planned meetings, helping with future planning and scheduling insights that Gong alone wouldn’t provide.
Q: Can I test if a Gong webhook is working?
A: Yes! Go to Gong's "Automation Rules" page and click "Test Now" to send a test payload. This helps troubleshoot configuration issues.
