Blueprints Overview
Vitally Blueprints are ready‑to‑use templates for Customer Success operations — preconfigured assets (Playbooks, Views, Projects, Notes, Dashboards, etc.) that you can apply in one click. They capture expert-recommended frameworks so you don’t have to build every process from scratch.
With Blueprints you can:
Rapidly activate core CS workflows (onboarding, renewals, etc.)
Explore vetted best practices contributed by top CS teams
Customize everything after applying — you retain full control
Save time configuring and get to driving outcomes faster
You’ll find two types of Blueprints:
Use-case Blueprints: Full, end-to-end processes (e.g. onboarding, renewal, NPS follow-up)
Standalone feature Blueprints: Single templates for a specific asset (e.g. a Dashboard, View, or Project)
How to Access Blueprints
There are several entry points to open and apply Blueprints:
Navigate to Settings
Under Operations, select Blueprints
Select your Blueprint, whether it's a use case or a standalone feature Blueprint
Select Add Blueprint
Additionally, as you're building Playbooks, Views, etc., you can access Blueprints directly. Below are some ways to access Blueprints from one of our features:
Within Playbook Builder: “Apply a Blueprint”
In creating or editing a View: Option to start from a Blueprint
In Activity Templates, Project Templates, or other asset creation flows
During Hub / Workspace setup screens (if relevant)
How Blueprint Configuration Works
Every Blueprint includes a quick configuration flow (typically under 1 minute) to:
Prevent duplication by identifying existing values (like Properties or Views)
Ensure the Blueprint is applied in the right place
Prompt any required setup (e.g., fallback senders for Conversation actions)
We’ll clearly call out any data prerequisites, such as needing a connected email inbox to apply a Playbook that sends Conversations.
Available Blueprints
Use Cases - These are full build-out options that include new traits, dashboards, or Playbooks and cover workflows for CSM Productivity, Executives, Forecasting, Onboarding, and Renewal processes, and more!
Boards - This board-style view helps teams manage projects by status, enabling drag-and-drop flexibility and an at-a-glance understanding of what’s in motion.
Calendars - This calendar view helps you plan your day and manage customer touchpoints in real time.
Conversation Templates - These templates offer configurable email templates that cover topics like account transitions, introductions, upcoming renewals, and a community-contributed Monthly Update that provides personalized updates and metrics to your customers.
Custom Summaries - For use with Vitally's AI Copilot! These AI Summary templates can be helpful for generating specific summaries for actions like handing off an account after implementation, finding the right customer to serve as a reference, or getting a pre-call vibe check so you're prepared for your next call.
Dashboards - Quickly and easily create reporting dashboards pre-populated with helpful widgets to track revenue and performance, strategize on renewals and risks, or review what's on task for you and your team today.
Doc Templates - Here you'll find several multi-page Doc templates to help collaborate with your customers, provide beta access enablement, and allow your team to communicate openly and share knowledge about your customers.
Note Templates - Comprehensive Note Templates that cover topics like account transitions, onboarding, or organizing recurring call engagement.
Playbooks - Build out automated Playbooks with one click! There are community-contributed playbooks for Onboarding and Renewal processes, as well as a scaled Risk process, NPS follow-up, and reengaging customers who might be slipping away.
Project Templates - Create Project templates for tracking onboarding, executive business reviews, customer escalations, and more to help standardize your processes and ensure everyone on the team is on the same page!
Tables - This table surfaces critical data points across all accounts—giving CSMs a fast, familiar, and powerful management interface.
FAQ
Can I apply the same Blueprint more than once?
Yes. You’ll see a notice if it’s been applied before, along with who applied it, when, and links to the previous assets.
Who in Vitally can apply Blueprints?
Any Vitally admin, leader, or team member can access the Blueprint library. Some Blueprints are only available to admins or leaders, since they include features that require a higher level of access. We do offer several Blueprints that are available for anyone to use!
Can I delete a Blueprint after applying it?
There’s no “bulk delete” today; however, you can delete individual assets manually.
Will Blueprints change anything automatically?
No - you’re in complete control. Any Blueprint that includes automation (like sending Conversations via Playbook) will be created in Draft mode. This gives you time to review and make customizations before turning anything live.
Are more Blueprints coming?
